With its perfectly balanced 37.5mm diameter, the DRZ 07 “Universo” is neither too small nor too large, it’s just right. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to the world of horology, this versatile watch is designed to fit effortlessly on any wrist.
Case: A Refined Signature
The “sliced lugs” design, a hallmark of Direnzo Watches, makes its return with the DRZ 07. Originally seen in the DRZ 05 Solaris, this design has been refined to perfection with slightly curved sides and compact proportions: 37.5mm in diameter and 45mm lug-to-lug. This ensures a snug, comfortable fit for wrists of all sizes, particularly those on the smaller side.
The Universo boasts a 10 ATM water resistance rating, making it the perfect companion for all your adventures. The screw-down crown even features a glowing Super-LumiNova dot, adding a subtle yet functional touch.
Every metal component, including the case, bezel, case back, crown, bracelet, and clasp, has been coated with a hard coat resistance layer rated at HV 800 to keep those pesky everyday scratches at bay. And to maintain a slim profile (under 11.00mm), we opted for a solid case back.
Dial: A Bold Splash of Color
The DRZ 07 introduces an incredible array of vibrant colors, including our very first Aventurine Dial, a material renowned for its sparkling, starry effect. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out; the shimmering dial elevates the watch into a true showstopper.
Taking cues from the DRZ 04 Mondial, the dial features the signature dual-minute track and a unique bowl-shaped design, a concept first introduced with the DRZ 02 in 2018. This design creates a seamless transition between the dial and case, enhancing depth and delivering a captivating 3D effect.
What is an Aventurine Dial?
An Aventurine Dial is crafted from or inspired by aventurine glass, a material with a mesmerizing glittering effect called aventurescence. Tiny mineral inclusions (like copper or chromium) in the glass catch the light, creating a sparkling, celestial appearance. The term “aventurine” comes from the Italian word “avventura”, meaning “by chance,” referencing its accidental discovery by Venetian glassmakers in the 17th century.
Bracelet: Classic Meets Modern Convenience
The DRZ 07 “Universo” comes with a 316L stainless steel Jubilee bracelet, celebrated for its comfort and iconic design. The 5-link structure, featuring three smaller central links flanked by two larger outer links, provides a luxurious fit.
For the first time, we’re including an on-the-fly adjustment clasp. Partnering with our friends at Nodus, we’ve incorporated their innovative NEM clasp, chosen for its ease of use. If you’re sharing this watch with your partner, this feature ensures effortless size adjustments for similar wrist sizes.
Did you know? The Jubilee bracelet was introduced by Rolex in 1945 to celebrate the brand’s 40th anniversary. It first appeared on the iconic Rolex Datejust, one of the earliest self-winding chronometer watches with a date display.

I’ve been wearing my Direnzo for quite some time now, and I felt it was finally time to leave a review because the watch — and the whole experience — genuinely deserves one.
The watch already looked beautiful in the photos, but it’s even better on the wrist. The proportions, dial color, case design and overall finishing give it a very distinctive character. It manages to feel sporty and elegant at the same time, and it has become one of my favorite watches to wear.
What has surprised me most is how much attention it gets. People regularly notice it, compliment it, and ask me what watch I’m wearing. I own watches from more widely known brands as well, but my Direnzo is definitely one of the pieces that gets the most attention.
I also have to mention the excellent experience I had when purchasing the watch. Sergio was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Since I was traveling abroad at the time, he arranged to have the watch shipped directly to my hotel and personally made sure everything went smoothly. The communication and attention at every step made the whole experience feel very personal — something you rarely get from larger brands.
It has actually been quite some time since I bought the watch, but after living with it and seeing how much I continue to enjoy wearing it, I wanted to come back and share my experience.

This weekend I had the opportunity to attend the DC District Time Watch Show, where I was fortunate enough to meet Sergio Godoy Di Renzo, the founder of Direnzo. It was a real pleasure to be introduced to his beautiful collection in person.
What stood out immediately was Sergio’s passion for watchmaking and his remarkable attention to detail. I went with a great burnt orange color which has a great pop of color. The lume on this watch is exceptional. Even the crown has lume!
Beyond the watches themselves, his genuine customer service and willingness to spend time speaking with me and my husband made the entire experience feel personal and memorable. It’s rare to see that level of engagement from a founder and owner, and it truly adds another dimension to appreciating the brand. J’ai acheté cette DRZ07 UNIVERSO car en la voyant en images j’ai eu un coup de cœur.
J’ai déballé cette montre et je suis tombé complètement amoureux, elle est… waouh!
Cette pièce est exceptionnelle et on se rend compte tout de suite que Sergio Godoy Direnzo à mis toute sa passion et son talent dans l’exécution de cette œuvre d’horlogerie. Tout est pensé et bien fait.
Le diamètre est parfait, la montre pose de fou sur le poignet et le port est très, très confortable.
Son bracelet Jubilee appui ce confort en plus d’être très beau et sa mise à la taille se fait grâce à des axes vissés, facile ! La boucle et son système de réglage “à la volée” NEM c’est la cerise sur le gâteau, on est vraiment très bien niveau confort.
Mais cette Universo est très versatile et se porte aussi très bien sur un bracelet cuir ou Rubber ou autres sans aucun souci.
Je perd souvent la notion du temps en admirant cette montre car c’est un vrai plaisir, aussi bien d’observer sa beauté, que de carresser ses formes sensuelles.
Le cadran orange se pare d’une teinte ambrée selon la luminosité et le sunburst se fonce sur les bords, c’est chaud, enivrant. Le rehau en forme de bol offre de la profondeur, on s’y noie.
La pleine lume venue le bord du saphir reflète les index illuminés, je ne me lasse pas de ce spectacle.
Mais bien au delà de ça je ne m’attendais pas à vivre une si belle expérience.
Sergio est très à l’écoute de ses clients et apprécie qu’on lui dise ce que l’on pense de ses montres, c’est un homme d’une incroyable gentillesse (et très patient) et avec qui vous pouvez échanger sur la pièce que vous portez au poignet. La carte manuscrite qu’il glisse dans l’emballage après inspection vous y invite fortement et je n’ai pas hésité.
C’est une chance incroyable de porter une telle montre et de pouvoir y ajouter un peu de l’âme de son créateur, c’est un univers parallèle qui offre une autre dimension que le simple port d’une très belle montre. Sa valeur à l’achat devient vraiment dérisoire face à la valeur de l’expérience que procure l’univers confidentiel et chaleureux de Direnzo.
Si vous hésitez encore à déclencher votre achat c’est que vous êtes idiot.

This is my early retirement watch and my second Direnzo. The DRZ 07 Orange No Date is absolutely gorgeous. Finish is superb. Visually, photographs don’t quite do it justice until it’s on your wrist. It has a subtle elegance that keeps you glancing at the face as light plays with the sunburst finish. Even though I have not had it long, I’ve already received a couple of compliments on it.
